I write about writing as a physical practice. Hands on keys, ink on paper, breath and attention. Language is an instrument you play with the whole body, and it plays you back.

The Understory

Who I am

I’m the author of Deep Freewriting, Writing from the Inside Out, and other books. I also ghostwrite for people who have ideas worth sharing but no time to wrestle them onto the page. What’s most fulfilling about that work is how the process reflects a person’s own voice and worldview back to them.

I believe in the artisan path: make work you believe in, always be discovering yourself, trust that the rest follows.

Work with me

I work as a developmental editor.

Drop me a line if you’d like to explore working together.
